Cockroaches Treatment
Across the Front Range.
German roaches in kitchens; American roaches in basements and drains.

Cockroaches are a contamination pest first and a nuisance second — they spread bacteria across every surface they touch and are a leading trigger for childhood asthma.
EPC treats both common Colorado species: German roaches in kitchens and bathrooms (the small ones that breed exponentially), and American roaches in basements, drains, and commercial buildings.
About Cockroaches
German cockroaches are 1/2 inch, light brown with two dark stripes on the pronotum. A single female produces 30,000+ descendants per year if unchecked. American cockroaches are 1.5 inches, reddish-brown, can fly short distances, and live 1–2 years. Both are nocturnal and prefer warm, humid harborage near food.
Signs You Have Cockroaches
- Live roaches running for cover when lights turn on (German: small + brown; American: large + reddish)
- Pepper-grain droppings around appliances, in drawers, behind cabinets
- Egg cases (oothecae) — small dark brown capsules in cracks and crevices
- Musky, oily odor in heavy infestations
- Smear marks where roaches travel repeatedly
- Shed exoskeletons in hidden corners
How EPC Treats Cockroaches
Targeted Gel Bait
Tiny placements of EPA-registered roach gel inside cracks, hinges, and harborage zones. Roaches eat the gel, return to the colony, and the colony self-eliminates. No spraying, no fumes, child-safe placement.
Insect Growth Regulator (IGR)
Sterilizes the breeding population so even surviving roaches can't reproduce. Layered with bait for full coverage.
Crack-and-Crevice Dust
Insecticidal dust applied to wall voids, behind dishwashers, under stoves, and in pipe chases. Long-residual barrier that catches roaches at travel choke points.
Sanitation Walk-Through
We identify food and water sources sustaining the roach population — leaking pipes, grease behind stoves, pet food storage, cardboard clutter — and give you a fix list.
How to Prevent Cockroaches
- Fix all plumbing leaks — even slow drips support roach populations
- Store food in sealed containers; clean grease from stove and oven hood weekly
- Take trash out daily; never leave bagged trash overnight in the kitchen
- Pull cardboard out of pantry and basement (roaches love corrugated)
- Seal gaps around pipe penetrations under sinks with foam + caulk
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get rid of cockroaches permanently?
Combination of bait + IGR + sanitation. Spraying alone makes German roaches scatter and worsens the problem. We treat the source, not just the visible bugs.
Are roach bombs effective?
No. Foggers push roaches deeper into wall voids and don't kill the colony. They also leave pesticide residue on every surface in the home. Don't use them.
Why do I have roaches in a clean house?
Roaches arrive in cardboard boxes (especially used appliances), grocery bags, and from neighboring units in apartment buildings. Cleanliness helps prevent population growth, but doesn't prevent introduction.
How fast do cockroaches multiply?
A single German cockroach female and her offspring can produce 30,000+ descendants in a year. Speed is exactly why DIY treatments fail — by the time you see roaches in the open, the wall voids are already packed.
