Mice. Rats. Voles. Out.
Includes mice, rats and voles. At time of service we'll inspect and provide an estimate for any necessary repairs (exclusion) to prevent reinfestation.
Three Colorado rodents, three different problems
Mice, rats, and voles all show up in Denver-metro homes — but they live differently and need different control. We treat all three.
House Mice
The #1 winter rodent across the metro. Squeeze through 1/4-inch gaps. Chew electrical wiring. Breed every 21 days. Mouse details →
Norway & Roof Rats
Norway rats burrow under foundations and live in basements. Roof rats climb into attics from trees. Both carry leptospirosis and salmonella. Rat details →
Voles
Lawn pests, not house pests. Tunnel through grass under winter snow. Damage shows in spring when snow melts. Vole details →
Our exclusion-first approach
Trapping alone is a yearly tax. Exclusion is a permanent fix. Every rodent job we run includes:
- Active trapping with snap traps and multi-catch units along travel routes
- Whole-home exclusion — every gap larger than 1/4 inch sealed with steel wool + sealant or hardware cloth
- Garage and utility — fresh weatherstripping, dryer vent covers, hard-mortar repair on utility penetrations
- Sanitation walk-through — pet food, bird seed, garage clutter, woodpile placement
- Optional quarterly monitoring for properties near greenbelts or open lots
Why DIY traps fail
Mice are neophobic — they avoid new objects in their environment for several days. Plus, traps placed wrong (in the middle of a room) won't be visited. Pros place traps along walls and travel routes where rodents actually move.
Why we don't lead with poison
First-generation rodenticides poison pets and wildlife as well as rodents. We default to trapping + exclusion in homes with pets and kids. When bait is used, it's locked in tamper-resistant stations placed where pets can't reach.
