Fleas Treatment
Across the Front Range.
Pet-borne fleas treated indoors and outdoors with IGR + adulticide.

Fleas hitchhike in on pets and wildlife and establish in carpets, pet beds, and yards. Once they're in the carpet, the eggs and pupae are nearly impossible to kill with vacuuming alone.
EPC's flea protocol combines indoor IGR (sterilizes the breeding population), adulticide (kills active adults), and outdoor yard treatment (eliminates the source). Pet treatment from your vet is part of the solution.
About Fleas
Cat fleas (the species responsible for nearly all dog and cat infestations) are 1/16 inch, dark brown, laterally flattened, and jump up to 12 inches. A single female lays 50 eggs per day. The flea life cycle includes pupae that can lie dormant in carpet for months and hatch when triggered by vibration — which is why empty homes 'suddenly' have fleas when new occupants arrive.
Signs You Have Fleas
- Pet scratching, biting, or grooming excessively
- Tiny dark specks on pet bedding (flea dirt — digested blood)
- Small itchy bites around your ankles (flea bites usually below the knee)
- Live fleas visible jumping in carpet, especially in low-light areas
- Pets restless, irritated, or losing fur in patches
How EPC Treats Fleas
Indoor IGR + Adulticide
Insect growth regulator sterilizes flea pupae and stops the breeding cycle; adulticide kills the visible adult population. Applied to all carpeted areas, pet rest zones, and baseboards.
Outdoor Yard Treatment
Backyard treatment in shaded areas where pets rest — under decks, in dog runs, around outdoor furniture. Eliminates the wildlife-borne reintroduction source.
Pet Treatment Coordination
We don't treat pets — your vet does. We coordinate timing so that home and pet are treated within 24 hours of each other for maximum effect.
Pre-Treatment Vacuuming Plan
Vibration triggers pupae to hatch. We give you a vacuum-and-dispose checklist 24 hours before treatment so the maximum number of fleas are vulnerable when we apply product.
How to Prevent Fleas
- Keep pets on year-round flea preventive (your vet's recommendation)
- Vacuum carpets weekly — focus on baseboards, under furniture, and pet rest areas
- Wash pet bedding hot weekly during flea season
- Treat outdoor pet rest areas; reduce wildlife access to the yard
- Inspect new pets and rescue animals before bringing them indoors
Frequently Asked Questions
Why are there fleas if my pets are treated?
Even treated pets can carry fleas in for a few hours before the product kills them. If carpets and yard already have an established population, you'll keep seeing them.
How long does it take to get rid of fleas?
Indoor adult population drops within 24 hours; the full life cycle (eggs and pupae) takes 4–6 weeks to clear with IGR. Vacuum and walk on carpet during that window to trigger pupae to hatch into the treated environment.
Can fleas live without pets?
Yes for several months. Flea pupae can lie dormant in carpet for up to a year, hatching when vibration and warmth signal a host has returned. New occupants of a vacant infested home often get the worst flea exposure.
Are flea bombs effective?
No — they don't kill pupae and don't penetrate to the flea population in carpet fibers. Worse, they leave residue across the entire home. Use professional treatment instead.
